The Government is only allowing accommodation businesses to re-open subject to certain conditions being met. We have now been awarded a ‘We’re Good to Go’ mark and AA COVID-19 Confident accreditation which is the industry standard for businesses across the sector and demonstrates that we are adhering to the respective Government and public health guidance. We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and have been checked that the required processes and staff training are in place to help keep our guests, staff and family safe at this time.
We now have enhanced cleaning protocols and safety requirements and we are implementing these to ensure your safety, and also that of our staff and family. It will, however, mean that things are slightly different from usual, and we will be asking for your help with a few things.
Cleaning will take extra time as we now have to “double clean” – first our usual high standard of cleaning, followed by going over everything again with a virucidal sanitiser. We also have to rewash crockery and kitchen equipment between guests even if it has not been used. All bed linen and towels will be washed at plus 60 degrees using appropriate detergents. All this means that we need extra time for each changeover, so arrival and departure times will now be 4pm arrival and 9.30 am departure. We understand this may be inconvenient, but it is really important we have this extra time to ensure your safety and that of our future guests.
In addition to our usual welcome packs, guests will find these packs in their cottage. They contain masks, disposable gloves, alcohol hand sanitiser. Everything you need for a trip to the supermarket, if you’ve forgotten to bring any with you.
We are asking guests to help with a few tasks to keep everyone safe:
- Please strip beds before leaving and place used linen and towels in the bags provided. We understand this is not very glamorous, on the last day of your holiday, however, it will help to protect our staff and family and we are grateful for your co-operation – Thank You.
- Please empty all bins (including bathroom bins) and put into the outside bins.
- Please leave your final wash in the dishwasher as we are now required to re-wash everything between guests, so it would help hugely if all this crockery is cleaned and contained within the dishwasher.
To reduce the risk of touch contamination, we have been advised to remove as much as possible from the cottages. This means that decorative cushions and throws, ornaments, paper information leaflets, toys, games, etc have been kept to a minimum. We have also reduced the quantity of some kitchen equipment, as the requirement to rewash every item between guests (even if it is clean) would not be possible in the time with the usual quantities. In the event you need more we will have a full stock available so please ask.
We hope you have a happy healthy holiday however if you develop symptoms the Government advice is to return home to your primary residence, and self-isolate there for a period of 7 days (14 days for the other group members). Numbers and directions to local hospital and surgery are included in our guest information. Please do let us know immediately if you develop symptoms, we are here to help you and will also need to consider the cleaning protocols for the accommodation as they are different.
We hope that you will have a great holiday with us and thank you for your co-operation in helping us to make Bryn Llys a COVID safe place.
