Local ‘Lock-down’ Walks
The lock down has provided us with great opportunity to explore some of the local footpaths and walks around Bryn Llys as part of our daily exercise allowance. Living in such a beautiful area with access to so many great places its can be easy to take for granted the amazing walks and scenery on our doorstep. Even after living here for over 25 years we have found some new walks right from our front gate.
But its not all about the quarry and industrial past – these paths now give us access to ancient blue bell woods, fast flowing rivers and waterfalls, heath moorland all with the amazing backdrop Snowdonia’s northern mountain ranges of Carneddau and Glyderau.
Paths are easily followed but not extensively waymarked in places adding to the sense of adventure and exploration. They are great for a morning of evening stroll and we have found some stunning view points with which to see the sun rising or setting over the mountains and local valley.
For people wanting a more physical workout many of these walks are great runs and offer a way to access the higher hills for those who would like to venture a bit further.
Hopefully we will be able to find our way back into the mountains and area farther afield soon, but in the meantime, there are still loads of place locally that we can explore!
